Hello friends!
My name is Sean Rivers. I am a singer/songwriter/producer based in Franklin, TN. I've had quite the journey to get to this point but I'll ll try to give you the short and sweet version.
Despite being raised in Fort Payne, Alabama around country supergroup Alabama, my professional music journey did not begin until I left home to attend the University of Alabama. Although I had long been crafting song lyrics, it wasn’t until college that I taught myself guitar.
It all really started when Jeremiah Jones gave me my first gig and residency at Jupiter Bar in Tuscaloosa and I never looked back. For over 14 years, the band and I performed over 150 shows annually across the U.S. We mixed covers and originals in high energy shows across college bars and frat houses all over the Eastern part of the country.
Life would take a poignant turn during the 2011 tornado that devastated Tuscaloosa, when our friend Loryn Brown tragically passed away. ‘Mind on Tuscaloosa,’ a song born from that tragedy, gained attention, propelling me into a regional radio tour and national news, leading to a move to Nashville and shows with artists like Sam Hunt, Cole Swindell, Chase Rice, Drivin N Cryin’, to Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann, Randy Houser and more.
I married Molly in 2017, and our daughter, Sage, arrived in 2019. In 2018, after learning we were having a child, I took a hiatus from performing and writing, delving into artist development, becoming Entertainment Director for Dierks Bentley’s Nashville venue, Whiskey Row, and Tour Managing for country stars like Chris Janson and Charlie Argo.
In November of 2023, I could not fight the feeling anymore. I started writing, recording and playing live shows again.
In February of 2025 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. This experience gave me a new outlook on life.
In April of 2025 I began a series called ‘One Take Work Tapes’ in which I released a previously unreleased raw, acoustic song and video every week for a year while also learning how to fully produce my own music.
Upon the wrapping of a full year of ‘One Take Work Tapes’ it is time for the next chapter.
May of 2026 marks the release of the first of a string of full production singles that I fully produced myself. These singles will have an R&B/ Hip Hop/ Soul feel and will lead up to a full length album. This is the most excited I have ever been about making music. I feel like I am finally telling my story, my way and it’s all on me.
The first single for the new project ‘One Nut’ is a playful take on keeping your confidence and retaking control of your life after an event like testicular cancer. Look for it May 15th 2026 with a new singles to follow.
Thank YOU for being here!
